Another key component of helping to maintain your pet’s health and happiness is having them on reliable, consistent heartworm preventative.
Heartworm disease is serious and potentially fatal to our dogs and cats. Heartworms are spread by mosquito bites and can grow up to a foot long, living in the heart and lungs of our beloved pets.
Unless you intend to breed, we recommend having pets spayed or neutered. Pets that have been spayed or neutered tend to live longer and have healthier lives.
Regular wellness exams allow us to catch underlying health problems early, provide consistent preventative care, and support your pet’s overall health and well-being.
It's hard to provide care without knowing the root of what is ailing your pet, which is why diagnostic testing is so important. Diagnostic testing can include laboratory testing (blood, urine, and fecal) and diagnostic imaging like X–rays, CT, MRI, and ultrasound.
From routine cleanings to tooth extractions, the Thrive Pet Healthcare network of Primary Care veterinarians and Dental Specialists is here to keep your pet's smile fresh! Our general practices can take care of everyday dental maintenance with outstanding regular check-ins, cleanings, and basic surgeries.
Meanwhile, our specialty veterinarians are prepared to handle more complex or chronic dental cases like a root abscess, jaw fracture, abnormal tooth formation, or advanced periodontal disease. These doctors are highly trained within the field of veterinary dentistry and have access to specialized equipment, typically unavailable at primary care clinics.
Our veterinarians are skilled in diagnosing common problems that affect our pets like vomiting, itching, lumps, limping, and more.
Vaccines are essential for preventive care and can increase the chances of a longer, happier life for pets. Ensuring that pets are consistently up to date with their vaccinations can help prevent contracting disease or help lessen the severity of symptoms if a disease is contracted.
Fleas can cause itchy skin, skin infections, and spread tapeworms. Ticks can carry disease such as Lyme Disease, Ehrlichiosis, and more.
We will be by your side during this time of need to offer both medical assistance and emotional support.
The occasional taps, scrapes, and scratches that happen when playing with your pet means it's time for a trip to your local veterinarian or boarding facility! Trimming your pet's nails is a healthy part of their life, and can lead to greater comfort in everyday activity.

Dr. Tomlin is so excited and honored to become part of the medical team at Day & Evening Pet Hospital! He was born and raised in Lutz, Florida. His childhood involved lots of pets, which taught him to love animals and led him to find a passion for animal care. After graduating from Hillsborough High School in Tampa, he attended college at the University of Florida for 8 years. During his academic career, he was lucky enough to meet his beautiful and loving wife to be, Emily. By 2017, he graduated from the University Of Florida College Of Veterinary Medicine. He and Emily have since married and settled back down in the Tampa area. They now enjoy a baby boy together who brightens their world every day. As a general practitioner, his favorite medical subjects include anesthesia, cardiology, and pharmacology. His hobbies include scuba diving (and anything aquatic), racquetball, and chess, making smoked meats, and of course taking care of the new baby!

I grew up on a farm in West Virginia and at an early age found that I wanted to learn how to fix things that were not working as they should. I earned a Bachelor’s in Animal Science and then went immediately into Veterinary College. During my internship in the senior year of veterinary college, I realized I liked working with small animals (cats and dogs) as well as farm animals. After graduating in 1975, I worked in a mixed (large and small) animal practice in Ohio for 6 years. I then acquired my own mixed animal practice in Virginia along with my wife who is also a veterinarian. Together, we built a busy veterinary practice near Roanoke, Virginia. The practice transformed into a small animal practice which kept 4 doctors very busy. In 2008, we came to Florida for the warmer climate. I started with Day and Evening Pet Clinic or a part-time schedule until the new clinic opened and have had a busy full-time position since then. My passion is figuring out the health issues for pets and helping people find answers for their furry family members.

Dr. Clemente grew up in the Tarpon Springs area. She attended the University of Florida, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology while also working as a veterinary technician. She dreamt of becoming a veterinarian from a young age. To further her passion, Dr. Clemente earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee.
Dr. Clemente moved back to Florida to set down roots with her husband and family of fur babies. Understanding the importance of the human-animal bond, Dr. Clemente is committed to providing individualized, quality care for her patients while utilizing fear-free techniques to help alleviate the fear of visiting the vet. She focuses on building lasting and caring relationships with her clients. Dr. Clemente enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine with her clinical interests, including shelter medicine, ultrasound, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and exotic medicine. She enjoys traveling the world, experiencing new cultures, and reading during her free time.
